Mike attended Bellarmine College Preparatory and Santa Clara University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics. Upon graduation from college, Mike went to work for Souza Realty & Development.
Mike is a member of professional associations including the Central Valley Association of REALTORS®, the REALTORS® Land Institute, the National & California Association of REALTORS® and the Counselors of Real Estate.
Mike has served on the Board of Directors of the Central Valley Association of REALTORS®, including one year as Chairman of the Board. He has served on and chaired a variety of committees for the Association. He has served on the Board of Directors of the California Association of REALTORS®, and has served on many committees including the chair of the Land Use & Environmental Committee, the Federal Issues Committee, and the California Real Estate Political Action Committee. He has served on the Board of Directors of the California Chapter of the REALTORS® Land Institute, an affiliate of the National Association of Realtors whose members specialize in land sales, and has served on national committees.
Mike has earned the Accredited Land Consultant designation (ALC). This designation is awarded to individuals who complete a rigorous three-year candidacy that includes education, committee work, and review of land sales work done by the Candidate. Mike is one of only approximately 900 REALTORS® in the nation who holds this designation, recognizing him as one of the premier land sales specialists in the U.S.
Mike has also earned the Counselor of Real Estate (CRE) designation. The Counselors of Real Estate is an international group of recognized professionals who provide expert, objective real estate advice on real property and land-related matters.
Mike has served on the Board of Trustees of Sutter Tracy Community Hospital, where he served three years as Chairman of the Board and served on the Board of Trustees of the Tracy Community Memorial Hospital Foundation. He has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Boys and Girls Club of Tracy for over 25 years, having served multiple terms as Chairman of the Board and Treasurer. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Grand Foundation where he served and Chair, a non-profit group that raised $1 million to aid the City of Tracy in restoring a dilapidated 1920's era vaudeville theater into the Grand Theater Center for the Arts. The Grand Foundation now provides annual charitable support and community outreach for the Center.
Mike serves on Board of Trustees for The Learning Center, a K-12 Charter School having served many years as Chair and is a member of the Board of Directors of Tracy Sunrise Rotary. Mike serves on the New Building Project Steering Committee for St. Bernard's Catholic Church, where he donates his time as the Project Manager for the Valpico Road campus. Mike has served on numerous civic committees including chairing the Tracy Tomorrow Environmental Concerns Committee, the Downtown Revitalization Committee, the Tracy School Facilities Committee, the Tracy Schools Unification Committee, the Tracy General Plan Housing Committee, the Tracy Bean Festival Steering Committee, serving as Chairman for two years, and the Tracy Tomorrow 2000 Economic Development Committee.
Mike has been named the Professional of the Year by the Tracy Chamber of Commerce, Person of the Year by the San Joaquin County Juvenile Justice Commission and REALTOR of the Year by the Central Valley Association of REALTORS®.
As owner of SRD, Mike is responsible for all operations of SRD. He has been responsible for the construction and/or renovation of approximately 275,000 sq. ft. of commercial, office and industrial space. Mike does a considerable amount of consulting, helping land owners, developers and builders gain land use entitlements, manage projects and develop marketing strategies. Over the last 20 years, he has been involved in the entitlement of approximately 15,000 residential lots, over 1,500 acres of commercial and industrial land in southern San Joaquin County. He has consulted for or sold lots to many major national and local home builders, and consulted for many major land developers. Mike has managed some unique projects including the 45,000 sq. ft. Holy Family Center and the entitlement and construction of the first phase of the Valpico cemetery site for the Tracy Public Cemetery district. He is a California licensed real estate broker.
